Sharpie Gel No Bleed Highlighter

no bleed highlighter

The Sharpie Gel Highlighter has it's good and it's bad qualities. I purchased a 3-pack with yellow, blue and green, but they also offer a 4-pack with all yellow and a 5-pack with yellow, pink, orange, green and blue.

Going back to school as a non-traditional student I feel a lot of anxiety and highlighting has a weird, kind of relaxing effect for me. Enough about me... Let's talk about you. What do you want in a highlighter?

Almost all liquid highlighters bleed through, is that ok with you?

I was tired of making a beautiful masterpiece with my highlighters only to turn to the next page and see that all of it bled through. I wouldn't be able to highlight or even read that next page!

sharpie gel highlighterAs you can see the gel highlighter to the left has a wide crayon like look to it. It's pretty much a glorified neon crayon. When you go over text the first time, it does not show up very well. You have to go over it at least 2-3 times to get nice coverage. The problem with going over it several times is the residue that it leaves because it doesn't go into the paper it sits on the paper. There is a lot of extra residue that crumbles off too, so you can either let it sit there as a clump or rub it in with your finger which then leaves a residue on your finger. The blue is really super light too, it's more of a "lowlighter" than a highlighter.

Now to the really great part. Below are pictures of a highlighted page and the back of the highlighted page (click to make them bigger). There is no bleed through whatsoever. This is amazing for me. Even with all of the residue and not so great coverage, I would still use these so I don't have to deal with bleed-through.
